You can stream to TikTok using Custom RTMP in Castream — but there’s a catch:
TikTok Live via RTMP is not enabled by default for all accounts. You need to unlock it first.
Here’s how it works 👇
⚙️ How to Stream to TikTok with Castream
- Go to Settings → Destinations
- Tap Custom RTMP
- Set the Server URL and Stream Key from TikTok
- Save — you’ll now see TikTok listed as a custom destination
- Toggle it ON before going live 🎥
Want to rename it from "Custom RTMP"? That’s coming soon — we’ll let you add a label and icon soon.
🔓 How to Get TikTok RTMP Access
TikTok doesn’t enable RTMP access for all users automatically. To unlock it, you’ll need:
- ✅ A TikTok account in good standing
- ✅ At least 1,000 followers
- ✅ Access to TikTok LIVE Studio or Custom RTMP
Here’s how to request access:
- Open TikTok and go to Profile → Creator Tools → LIVE
- Look for an option like “Connect streaming software”
- If you see RTMP settings (Server URL + Stream Key), you’re good to go
- If not, you’ll need to wait or contact TikTok support
⚠️ TikTok controls access — Castream can’t unlock it for you.
🧠 Tips for TikTok Streaming
- Use portrait mode for best results
- Keep bitrate around 2.5–4 Mbps
- Test your stream privately before going live
- Add a chat overlay on-screen (coming soon to Castream)
❌ Limitations
- No official TikTok API yet (so it’s RTMP-only for now)
- You can’t auto-schedule or fetch comments through Castream (yet)
- TikTok might change your Stream Key frequently — always double check it before going live
