A good stream starts with a solid connection and the right bitrate.
This guide helps you pick the best settings based on your network and destination.
βοΈ What is bitrate?
Bitrate = how much data your stream sends every second.
- Higher bitrate = better quality, but needs more bandwidth
- Lower bitrate = more stable, but lower visual quality
You can set bitrate in the Go Live screen β Settings before starting your stream.
π‘ Recommended Bitrates
Resolution | Bitrate (Standard) | Bitrate (High) |
720p | 1β2 Mbps | 2.5β4 Mbps |
1080p | 2.5β4 Mbps | 6 Mbps |
π Some platforms (like Facebook) may throttle or reject anything above 6 Mbps. Stay within limits.
π± Mobile Data vs Wi-Fi
β Wi-Fi (Strong Signal)
- Best experience
- Use High Bitrate if connection is stable
- Avoid public or slow hotel Wi-Fi
β οΈ Mobile Data
- Use Standard Bitrate
- Avoid streaming on 1β2 bars
- Prefer 5G or full LTE
- Bitrate may auto-throttle depending on network quality (coming soon)
Pro Tip: Walk around before going live. If your video stutters, drop bitrate or switch networks.
π₯ Live Stream Stability Tips
- Close other heavy apps before going live
- Donβt upload large files or tether other devices
- Avoid moving in/out of coverage zones mid-stream
- Stay under your mobile data cap to avoid throttling
π€ What if my stream keeps cutting out?
Try this:
- Drop bitrate to 2.5Mbps (pro/creator)
- Switch to 720p
- Use Wi-Fi if possible
- Toggle Low Power Mode off on iOS
- Enable Do Not Disturb to block interruptions
π§ͺ Future Features (coming soon)
- Adaptive Bitrate (automatically adjusts quality)
- Network Quality Warnings
- Offline stream recording fallback
