Why Use Castream for PC Streaming?
If you’ve ever wanted to stream to multiple platforms at once — Twitch, YouTube Live, Facebook Live, and more — without juggling multiple apps or paying for extra services like Restream, Castream makes it stupid simple.
With Castream Streaming, you can push a single RTMP feed from your PC (OBS, Streamlabs, vMix, Wirecast, or even FFmpeg) and go live everywhere at the same time. It’s perfect for creators who want maximum reach with minimum hassle.
Step 1 – Link Your Streaming Destinations in the Castream Mobile App
Before your first broadcast, download the Castream mobile app (iOS or Android) and link all your destinations:
- YouTube Live
- Twitch
- Facebook Live & Facebook Pages
- Instagram Live & TikTok Live (via RTMP)
- Any Custom RTMP target
Web-based destination management is coming soon — right now, the mobile app is the fastest way to connect accounts.
Step 2 – Access the Streams Page on Castream Web
From your desktop or laptop, log into Castream Web and go to the Streams section.
Here you’ll create a session that will act as your “hub” for all the destinations you linked in the mobile app.
Step 3 – Copy Your RTMP Server & Stream Key
Copy the RTMP Server URL and your stream key.
Every stream session will give you two important details:
arduino CopyEdit Server (RTMP URL): rtmp://server.castream.io/test Stream Key: key91udiasd
These are what you’ll paste into your streaming software.
Step 3.1 – Select Destinations to go Live to and Go Live 🚀
Step 4 – Set Up Multistreaming in OBS Studio
OBS Studio works perfectly with Castream’s RTMP ingest:
- Open Settings → Stream.
- Change “Service” to Custom….
- Paste your RTMP URL in “Server” (e.g.,
rtmp://server.castream.io/test
).
- Paste your Stream Key in “Stream Key”.
- Save and click Start Streaming to go live.
Step 5 – Using Other Popular Encoders
Streamlabs Desktop
- Go to Settings → Stream → select “Custom Streaming Server”.
- Paste your Castream RTMP URL and Stream Key.
- Hit Go Live.
vMix
- In Settings → Streaming, select Custom RTMP Server.
- URL = RTMP server, Stream Name = Stream Key.
Wirecast
- In Output Settings, choose RTMP Server.
- Enter the URL and Stream Key from Castream.
FFmpeg Command Line
bash CopyEdit ffmpeg -re -i input.mp4 -c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -b:v 4500k -c:a aac \ -f flv rtmp://server.castream.io/test/key91udiasd
⚠️ Friendly Warning: Phone + Desktop Don’t Mix (Yet)
Right now, Castream can only handle one live source per account at a time.
If you try to stream from your phone and your PC at the same time, here’s what happens:
- Some platforms politely swap to the newest stream (session sequencing).
- Others just murder the older one with no goodbye.
End result? Your audience gets a “WTF happened?” moment, and you get flooded with “bro, did you rage quit?” DMs.
But… this is temporary.
We’re about to roll out Picture-in-Picture & split-screen layouts so you can go live from both your phone and PC at the same time. You’ll be able to:
- Combine your mobile camera feed with your desktop (OBS, vMix, etc.).
- Pick from predefined layouts (side-by-side, PiP, top/bottom split).
- Send the mixed feed out to all your destinations in one click.
Until that launches: stick to either phone or desktop per session to keep it clean.
Step 6 – Go Live to Twitch, YouTube, Facebook & More — All at Once
When you hit “Start Streaming” in your encoder, Castream will instantly fan out your live feed to every linked platform — perfect for:
- Twitch + YouTube simultaneous streaming
- Facebook Live + Instagram Live at the same time
- Streaming to multiple custom RTMP servers
No extra software, no complex setups. Just one connection from your PC → Castream → all your audiences.
