How to Stream to Facebook and YouTube at the Same Time
Facebook is where your community already hangs out. YouTube is where strangers discover you. Most creators, churches, coaches, and small businesses need both — and running two separate live streams to reach them is a waste of an afternoon.
With Castream you connect each platform once, then every broadcast goes to both simultaneously. One camera, one tap, two audiences.
Connect your Facebook Page
- Open the Castream app and go to Settings → Destinations
- Tap Facebook Pages
- Log in to Facebook and authorize Castream
- Choose the Page you want to stream to (not your personal profile — Pages are built for this)
- Save the destination
If you've never connected a Page before, the dedicated guide covers it: How to Stream to Facebook Pages with Castream.
Check your Page role. Whoever connects the Page needs sufficient permissions on it (admin or an equivalent role) for the authorization to work. If Facebook refuses the connection or the Page doesn't appear in the list, that's the first thing to check.
Connect your YouTube channel
- In Castream, go to Settings → Destinations
- Tap YouTube
- Sign in with Google, authorize Castream, and pick your channel
- Save
Make sure live streaming is enabled on the YouTube channel itself — brand-new channels sometimes need to verify before YouTube unlocks it. Full walkthrough here: How to Stream to YouTube Live Using Castream.
Going live
This is the part that never gets old:
- Tap Go Live in the Castream app
- Toggle your Facebook Page ON
- Toggle YouTube ON
- Write a title — keep it plain and searchable, since YouTube treats it like a video title forever
- Tap Go Live
Your stream is now running on both platforms. Facebook viewers comment on Facebook; YouTube viewers comment on YouTube. If you want to follow both conversations without switching apps, Castream Web has a unified chat view.
From desktop, if you prefer
If you're presenting slides, sharing your screen, or running a multi-camera setup, route through OBS:
- In Castream Web, confirm your Facebook Page and YouTube channel are connected under Destinations
- Copy your Castream RTMP URL and Stream Key
- In OBS: Settings → Stream, Service Custom, paste both in
- Start streaming in OBS, then use the Castream Go Live Dashboard to select both destinations and go live
The OBS + Castream guide has the complete walkthrough.
A few things worth knowing
Go horizontal for this combo. Unlike the TikTok pairings, both Facebook and YouTube audiences expect 16:9 video. Shoot landscape (1920 × 1080) and it'll look right everywhere.
Titles matter more on YouTube. A Facebook Live title is disposable — it scrolls by. A YouTube title lives on as a VOD and keeps getting searched. Write the title for YouTube ("Sunday Service — March 10" beats "going live!!") and Facebook won't mind.
Facebook is stricter about music. If your stream includes background music, Facebook's detection is aggressive and can mute or cut your stream. When in doubt, use royalty-free music or none at all.
If one platform fails, the other keeps going. The destinations are independent — a Facebook authorization hiccup won't take down your YouTube stream. If one side drops, finish the broadcast on the working platform, then check the failed destination's connection afterward.
That's the whole playbook. Connect once, then it's two toggles and a button every time.
